The July Robotics Classs consisted of 8 intrepid explorers. When not actually building and programming robots, they were busy exploring rock formations at the Great Northern Town Center - and eating ice cream. By the end of 4 days, they had all learned to build and program with Robolab in the LEGO Mindstorms system - a great start for the future! |
| Luke, Tanner, (and Ron) first built a monorail controlled by light sensors on each end. Then Tanner created a 'flip toy' using the principle that by turning a motor's axle back and forth, you have created a generator that will power another motor, causing it to bounce back and forth with the change in rotational direction. And finally, the team made a 'Gravitron' that gradually gained speed, then stopped. |

| Mark and Joe worked together to design a 'Ghost Ride'.(The blurred white object is the ghost!). Their vehicle could go up the ramp by itself, and could be modified to carry a camera. In addition, Mark designed an 'announcer device' that beeped whenever someone broke a flashlight beam. | ||
| Trevor (left) created a robot that could aim a ball at a target and get points for shooting it through the hole. Dan (right)learned to program a line-follower robot, and created a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ride - watch out for the bridge! |
